Raksha Bandhan Story & Traditions Celebration

Raksha Bandhan 🎁

“A bond of protection, love, and lifelong promises.”

📖 Story & Significance

Raksha Bandhan celebrates the special bond between brothers and sisters. Traditionally, sisters tie a sacred thread (rakhi) on their brothers' wrists praying for their long life and well-being, while brothers promise to protect and support their sisters.

The festival has mythological roots in stories where rakhis have been used as tokens of protection and alliances between people and rulers.

Raksha Bandhan honours family ties, mutual respect, and the duty of care among siblings.

🎉 Traditions & Customs

Sisters perform a small ritual by applying a tilak on the brother's forehead and tying the rakhi, followed by the exchange of sweets and gifts. Families gather to celebrate, and modern variations include tying rakhis among friends to symbolise friendship and support.
